As a developer, my passion is creating apps and services that are user-friendly and make life better. Having worked in various industries with various CRM software and creative tools, I know how painful it is to deal with clunky software that seems openly hostile to its user.
I have recently completed training as a full stack software developer at CodeClan, based on agile development principles, test-driven development, UX design, and object oriented programming. In both solo programming and as a team I have experience with an abundance of languages and frameworks, including React, ES6, RESTful APIs, Git and Github, HTML5, CSS and SASS. I am currently volunteering with a charitable organisation on deployment of a React Native app, as a way to continue improving my skills.
CodeClan represents a landmark moment for me, pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I previously worked within film and television, consulting as a script reader for various production companies and funding my own short films. Attending Codeclan, I have found web development to be an excellent way of applying my creativity to something practical and fulfilling. Your company sounds like a great place that would allow me to flourish as a developer, from your welcoming team and the use of state of the art web and mobile applications in your projects.
In hiring me, you would have a keen problem solver. No matter what field I have worked in, poring over lines of code, reading screenplays and consulting on improvements, helping a disadvantaged student navigate a barrier to their learning, I am in my element breaking down an issue to its core components and working through each one until I have cracked it.
