Help to self-host our ROR marketplace for volunteering / charity fundraising

    Project description:

It would change everything for us if we could get a few hours a week help from a Ruby dev.

We’re weeks away from launching our ambitious social enterprise project Dignity platform. Our long term vision is to enable all charities and socially focused projects to fundraise with Dignity (rather than street fundraisers, primarily for profit companies cold-calling supporters, junk mailing and resorting to sensationalist marketing campaigns to tug at peoples’ heart strings.

Not all charities fundraise that way, but it’s a growing trend and charities are struggling more than ever with both funding and in terms of their relationship with supporters – we want to help solve both those problems, on a global scale, ensuring the organisations working hardest to create the future we’re most inspired by are thriving.

    What we need now

At DignityPlatform.org (aiming to launch late October 2018) you can see we have a neighbourhood micro-volunteering platform, match making locals based on skills they volunteer to each other – in return for a donation to charity.

It works, but it’s expensive and we have no budget at this stage; we also want more control over the design. That’s why we want to self-host (it’s open source after all, built on Ruby)

Nothing is more valuable to us right now than reliability, so if you think you might be able to help us, let’s explore how you might be able to support our transition to a self-hosted version (we currently host on SiteGround, who also are our domain registrar) and I think they support Ruby.

Questions and a chat very welcome! Thank you.
