Les Bubb has already ‘saved mime’ from Room 101 (anyone remember that show?) however, it’s still dying out.
After a long and successful career in mime, Les Bubb retires in a few years and before he does he wants to pass the mime-baton on to a new generation of storytellers.
He worked on 3 of the Harry Potter films, was the motion picture actor behind Mr Mime in Detective Pikachu and has many other mainstream accolades to his name (including his own BBC TV show Hubbub that ran for 4 years).
I started out as a student at one of his classes and we got to talking and the Les Bubb School of Mime was born. We opened our virtual doors at Spring 2021 and teaches students from around the world Les’ unique style of mime over Zoom. While it started as a response to the pandemic, we’ve found that teaching online is a highly effective way of reaching more people and ensuring that the next generation of performer know that mime is more than white face and stripey t-shirts!
We’re using a Fail Fast and Lean mindset to get everything together and are building a new website in Webflow.
I am not a web developer and have got a bit stuck. I would appreciate any help to complete the site, or support me in doing so. To make sure all the important details are filled out so it’s beautiful for every screen, and any style advice to help the site feel modern and relevent would be greatly appreciated.
I hope to transition to a site that uses mostly video – mime is a live art form and it feels a shame to be limited to pictures, so if someone is looking for a future-facing project with an enthusiastic team who can produce some brilliant footage – get in touch.
We’re grateful for any kind of help, from advice on how to makes things work better, to design suggestions to a complete re-work, whatever you’re able to offer.
Thank you so much!
