Darcie.me is on a mission during the coronavirus crisis. We are looking for people who would like to VOLUNTEER their time for a good cause. Uniting efforts with different organizations, we are collecting information on places handing out or delivering food to anyone in need during the COVID-19 crisis. Some organizations we are helping are:
– NoKidHungry’s “Text FOOD to 877-877”
– HungerFreeAmerica’s USDA Hunger Hotline
– FeedingAmerica
– CARE & California Food Banks
Some of the tasks we are looking to get people involved in are:
– Web scraping data (developers)
– Creating an app to hold the data long term (developers)
– Finding out information about these services giving out food (anyone)
– Calling the locations to find out about the specifics, to add them to the online database (anyone)
